Plantiga Tech Applications & Athlete Case Studies - Quin Sandler
- 0 comments
Welcome to the Performance & Sport Science Study Group Webinars, we invite speakers who complement the NSCA’s Essentials of Sport Science textbook, demonstrating how the NSCA CPSS chapter concepts are applied in real-world scenarios! In this webinar, Quinn Sandler, CEO of Plantiga, presents on an application of Plantiga’s wearable sensor technology in sports performance and rehabilitation
Quinn introduces Plantiga’s technology, which uses unobtrusive sensors placed in insoles to collect highly detailed biomechanical data from athletes during walking, running, and jumping in real-world environments. The focus is on the importance of movement asymmetries and biomechanical profiling to improve athlete rehabilitation, performance, and injury prevention. Several practical case studies are presented:
Return to Play (RTP) Monitoring: Using walk tests and asymmetry data to fine-tune rehabilitation interventions.
Team Monitoring for Injury Prevention: Tracking asymmetry changes over time in healthy athletes may allow early detection of issues.
In-Session Fatigue Monitoring: Measuring biomechanical changes within a game may reveal how fatigue alters movement patterns and load distribution.
